Last night was the annual Gamma Phi Trick or Treat. We met the Roses at Varlamos before heading up to Gamma Phi and the Sievers joined us at the house. As usual, it was a little chaotic, but very fun. The house looks great and the girls were so sweet and welcoming to the kids. It was fun to see friends from different classes and all of their cute kids.

Pumpkin Carving
We spent Saturday night carving our pumpkins, drinking apple cider, cooking pumpkin seeds, and eating yummy soup. This was the first year the kids got into the carving and it was a lot of fun. It was a cozy, rainy night, so it was the perfect family night at home.
Excited to get carving!
Coop Halloween Party
Katie's Coop Class had a Halloween party on Saturday. Siblings were invited, so we made it a family event. After the party, I was suppose to have a photo session, but it got rained out. So, we decided to head up to Swanson's nursery for a little family outing. It was a good chance to get pictures of them in their costumes although Andy wanted nothing to do with "Captain America" and was proclaiming he was "Captain Andy" instead.
Andy's favorite things...
I was determined to take a little nap last week and Andy was determined to take a nap WITH me. So we both cuddled in bed and talked about all of his favorite things in the world. Here's what I remember from his list:
Favorite Color: Red
Favorite Animal: Hippopotamus (that was a first)
Favorite Food: Oatmeal/Waffles for breakfast, nuggies for dinner, salad eggs for lunch
Favorite Cousin: Miller (sorry other cousins, he really does love you all)
Favorite Friend: Mom, I don't have any friends (with a scoff). Lovely. Although after our conversation, the next day he came home for the first time with a list of his favorite preschool friends without me prompting him (phew!). Tommy, Jones, and Nash are at the top of his list these days.
Favorite Place to Visit: Whidbey and Palm Desert (lucky guy!)
Favorite Movie: Cars (shocking!)
Favorite Car: Lightening McQueen
Favorite Show: Bernstein Bears
Favorite Dessert: Chocolate Footballs and Coins and Chocolate Chip Mint Ice Cream
October Rain
We have been really lucky with the weather this fall, but the rain has settled in nicely now. Katie always has been a little obsessed with shoes. Lately, she likes to put my shoes on and walk around the house. Since the rain has hit, I have been wearing my rain boots every day. I guess Katie thought she should give them a try. Silly girl!
Pumpkin Pals
The Johnsons host an annual pumpkin carving party - which always is a fun time. This year, the weather wasn't cooperating, so we didn't carve pumpkins and just ate yummy food and hung out with friends. Carleigh had treat bags for the kids and Andy and Katie LOVED them. In the treat bags were the expandable sponges - which is a favorite in our house (the kids like to race to see whose opens up first). Here are their expressions as they were starting their race. You think they were excited?!? Thanks Auntie Car!

More time at the Coop
As I am wrapping up photos at the Coop, the kids now expect that when we go there, we are going to play. This week, they have been focused on making me "coffee" in the playhouse. Is it that obvious that I am tired these days?!?

Halloween Cookies
Betsy and I try to get our kids together to decorate cookies for big holidays. We missed a few last year, so we were set on getting together for Halloween. We headed up to make mummy pizzas, cookies, and to watch the (pitiful) Husky game. I asked the kids to give me their scariest face. Looks like they need a little work. We love time with the cousins!

Pumpkin Patch
With Halloween approaching, we decided it was time to head to the pumpkin patch. My friend, Misty, and her husband's family (Carpinito Brothers) run a wonderful pumpkin patch, corn maze, and are super busy in the fall. We wanted to support her (and we think it's the best one around!). Unfortunately, it was pretty darn cold yesterday, so my hopes of running through the fields of pumpkins was cut a little short by one cold mama and two cold kiddos. We had fun and enjoyed our visit, and we even were able to see Misty - such a treat!
