Co-op: Last Day

We had a great year at the Magnolia Co-op and look forward to returning next year. We LOVED our Teacher Gina and are excited that we get to have her again next year. I forgot to bring my camera to the last day...but Kristen captured the day and passed along her photos. Thanks Kristen! I am going to miss our Thursday mornings with such a great class.

Big Boy Bed!

We decided that we would try to move Andy to his big boy bed before the baby arrived. I already am not sleeping at night due to pregnancy insomnia - so why not stay up with Andy?!?Last night was night #2 in Andy's big boy bed. We have been catching up on the season finales on TV...LOST, Grey's Anatomy, etc. I honestly don't know which is more entertaining - watching TV or watching the video monitor. Night #1 - Andy played for about an hour and we had to go upstairs 3 times to let him know that he needed to sleep in his bed. Night #2 - after reading some books to himself and gathering all of the toys/animals/books onto his bed - he fell asleep on his own. Both nights - slept through the night! Hooray! Instead of getting up at 9:00 - he is getting up at 7:30 or 8 - which I can't complain about at all given that it's still "sleeping in" compared to most kids. Hopefully this pattern will keep up. He still is taking naps in his crib, because selfishly I need him to take a good nap (these days it's my nap time too!)...and when the baby comes, I need him to be contained and take good naps. So - we'll convert to his big boy bed completely over time.

Showered with love

With baby girl approaching in a little less than 4 weeks...my friends gathered on Thursday to celebrate our upcoming new addition. It was a great girls night and I received some really yummy dinners to prepare for the lack of energy and time to cook post-baby. Realistically - I don't have much energy these days...but I am going to do my best to wait until after the baby comes : ) Carleigh was the hostess with the mostest as usual and cooked a delicious meal. I am so lucky to be surrounded by such beautiful girlfriends who treat me so well. I only had my camera out at the very beginning...but here are a few pictures.

Basketball Hoop

Andy has a love for balls. He loves to throw them and point them out wherever we are. We decided it was time to get a basketball hoop for him and it's been fun watching him "shoot baskets".
Then he discovered one of the bouncy seat that we brought out for the baby...easily distracted : )
Back to basketball!

Tim McGraw

Kyle and I had a night out with Court and Ron. We went to dinner at Beppos and then headed to the Tim McGraw concert. Kyle and I are big country fans - and have been to a couple of his concerts, but this one was a lot more personal and we enjoyed the concert with great friends! Luckily Court brought her camera - so we could capture the night. We were quite the pair as she had a broken foot and I was 8 months pregnant. At least we could waddle together : ) Baby girl was dancing the whole concert - guess she is a country fan in the making! Thanks for a fun night and for the pictures!

Tickle Tune Typhoon

On Monday, the Magnolia Co-op hosted the end of school year party. Every year, Tickle Tune Typhoon comes to perform. It was fun to take Andy as Kyle and I both remember growing up to TTT. Andy was a little concerned with the costumes and big kids dancing - but after we got some ice cream in him, he was bouncing off the walls.

Happy Birthday Uncle Allen

Allen's birthday was last week, so we had a BBQ on Sunday to celebrate. What's better than friends, bocce, and burgers?!? Andy loves his Uncle Allen - as you can see from the pictures below. It was suppose to by crummy weather - but it turned out to be a great night!

Mothers' Day

It was a beautiful weekend for Mothers' Day! We met Connie and Alden for lunch at one of our favorite restaurants in Ballard - the Hi-Life. Andy was quite the happy guy and spent most of the meal coloring or throwing food.

This picture makes me laugh because it looks like Andy is looking at my belly in shock. Yep, it's me at 33 weeks! After nap time, we headed to Scalzo's for dinner with the Campbell Clan. We spent most of the evening playing in their yard with all of their fun toys.

Turning 30

I have had a great birthday week. Being a younger one in my class, turning a certain age never was much of a shock to me. By the time it was my time to turn 30...it already had sunk in and I have embraced it. I actually am really excited for my 30's. I feel like my 20's were 10 years of self-discovery. Although I know that self-discovery will continue, it's nice to have a little better idea of who I am and what I want and to be surrounded by those who are in the same place.

My actual birthday was last Sunday, and we were in Sun River for Allison's and Rob's wedding. We had a great weekend with friends and ended the weekend with a big breakfast at the lodge. It was a treat and a great way to kick off the day. On the flight home, Kristin made sure the flight attendant knew it was my birthday, and she made sure that my seat and age were pointed out for the entire plane...thanks KP : ) After being away from Andy for the weekend, it was nice to come home and spend the afternoon and evening with him. We had pizza and yummy bread pudding for dessert. Kyle and I talked that we weren't going to do anything big for my birthday (for presents). Actually, we are going to the Tim McGraw concert later this month, and that was the perfect gift for me. After dinner, he surprised me with a new laptop and monitor. I love that he still can surprise me and with all that is going on - he took the time to design a laptop for my photography business. I am a pretty lucky girl!

On Tuesday we celebrated with my family and I was spoiled rotten. Thanks Mom for a yummy dinner - and thanks sisters for knowing me so well!

To cap off the birthday week, Carleigh and Alison treated me to a pre-natal massage at Spa del Lago. It was exactly what I needed. After some pampering, we went to McGilvra's for a yummy lunch and then Molly Moons for dessert. It was my first experience at Molly Moons - and it was TASTY - salted caramel and "scout" mint...just what the doctor ordered. I had to document below.

The day was so nice that Car and I took the dogs to the park and played with Andy. Spontaneously, we decided it was a good night for a BBQ, so we planned dinner and Car cooked a yummy meal. The boys played bocce ball in the park and took Andy in the cooler. He though it was pretty funny : )

I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful people in my life. At 30, I have my health, an amazing husband, an energetic and happy little boy and a little girl on the way. Thanks to all of you for making me who I am and loving me for all my quirks : )

Bouncy House

On Saturday, our Co-op hosted a bouncy house. Luckily, the kids were split up by ages, so Andy had a chance. Kyle and I weren't sure how Andy was going to react. At first, he just sat, giggled and got bounced. Once he discovered he could jump himself, the real laughter let loose. After the bouncy house, we spent some time in the playground. We have loved the Co-op this year, and only have a few weeks left. It has been fun meeting new friends and having a set play time with Andy each week.

Mamas with Cameras

On Friday, we attended the Fremont Art Walk. I am part of a group called "Mamas with Cameras" and our photography was on display. It was fun to see all of the pictures - and fun to see my pictures displayed on the wall. Kyle documented the photographer and its subject next to one of the pictures. It also was fun to venture out in Fremont - something we should do more often!

Big Boy Table

We purchased a table for Andy - so that he could sit down and eat instead of be trapped in his high chair. He seems to like to "graze" rather than sit and eat a meal all at once. He really isn't much of a "sitter" at all. So, we with the entertainment of a fork and his own little table, eating is a little more exciting. I have had to let go of my desire to keep things clean and in one place - but if he eats more, it's worth-it!
