Bath time with the Williams

Courtney and I grew up together - mostly knowing each other from summers swimming at the Seattle Tennis Club.  We both were excited to see that our kids would be in preschool together in the same class.  Now that we have reconnected, our kids have no choice, they and we are going to be friends for life.  Courtney and I meet to go running around Greenlake weekly and I am amazed at how much attention she draws with her triplets.  She is a "super" mom and handles them with ease.  We headed over to the Williams for dinner and ended up in the bath tub - needless to say, we had a great time!

Whidbey with the Gravrocks

Cam, Anne, and Savi came up to Whidbey for the weekend in July.  They knew they were going to miss the family gathering in August, so planned ahead and came up in July.  We had a blast and Savi is a cutie.

Seattle Tennis Club - Swim Lessons

Andy took swimming lessons at the STC this summer.  He did great and we had a really good coach, coach Carolina.  We also benefited from previous lessons from coach Bapa, who Andy would strongly argue is the best coach out there.  It also was a big step as I didn't have to get in the pool with Andy for these lessons (well, I did for the first few).  Thank goodness for the hot tub as it was the main reason Andy actually got in the pool - the incentive to go in the hot tub after!  I also used hot dogs, french fries, and ice cream as a reward...you gotta do what you gotta do, right?
Woo Hoo!  Excited for lessons!

Paddle Board

Kyle jumped on the paddle boarding bandwagon.  I was skeptical at first - but it may be because my first attempt on our board was 8 weeks post baby.  Goes to show that you do actually use your abs as I had NONE post c-section.  It's a great escape and a fun new way to get some activity.  If only we had warmer weather and warmer water in Seattle : )  Andy enjoys his little spot on the board as well.

July - more time at Whidbey

Another favorite spot at Whidbey is the park across the street from our house.  As you can tell, we're working on getting Katie to want to stand...yep, she's 13 months here and still enjoys seeing the world from a sitting/crawling perspective.

Beach Time

And to round out the weekend, we spent time on the beach and enjoyed some sunshine!

The 3rd of July

We have a tradition to celebrate the 3rd of July with the Ault/Farris families.  On Sandy Hook, the fireworks are on the 3rd of July - so we enjoy beach time, dinner, and watch the fireworks.  Both of my kids wanted nothing to do with fireworks this year, so it was early to bed with our ears plugged...but we enjoyed them on TV the next night : )  Otherwise, it was another great night!

Last year, Katie was a few weeks old, and Caroline Ault was not born.  What a difference a year makes!

4th of July - Family Pictures

Since the 4th of July Weekend is one of the only weekends we all actually shower and brush our hair...we take family pictures.  Luckily the weather cooperated!

Independence Day WEEKEND - Treasure Hunt

This weekend is one of my favorites.  I look forward to it every year.  It's a weekend of celebration, family time, and Whidbey time.  It's not focused on one person, but everyone.  I love it.  In my mind, it's the unofficial kick-off to the summer.  Even though July weather wasn't really "summer" it still was a kick off to Whidbey weekends and summer fun.

The weekend started off with a return of Captain Jack Sparrow.  This year, Brendon (and his support team) outdid himself with hats, detailed maps, a treasure located across the water, and fun energy.  The kids had a blast - and so did the adults.

Hmmm...wanting to be just like his girl cousins
