Snow...again?

It's almost March and it snowed last night. I already was getting ready for spring, but I guess Mother Nature is telling me it's still winter! We didn't venture outside today, but took a nice warm bath inside instead. I think Andy is appreciating splashing in the bath vs. the snow anyway these days.

Sucking his thumb...these days he can't keep his hand/fingers out of his mouth!

6 month stats

We had Andy's 6 month appointment on Friday - and here is how he lines up:

Weight: 15 lbs 8 oz (25%)
Height: 27 inches (90%)
Head: 42 cm (10%)
So, Andy still is long and lean with a little head...but growing!

Auntie Ali

Our friend Alison is in Ecuador for 6 weeks helping out at an orphanage. We are getting updates from her blog and her experiences seem so unreal. I am so proud of her. She has been gone for a week, and we miss her already. I thought it would be appropriate to post these pictures, as Andy seemed to be talking to her today...in his own special way. All the way to Quito - we miss you and peace out! xoxo

Kisses

Henry loves it when Andy goes in his bouncy chair because it is the perfect height to give kisses. The pictures say it all...
Andy, what are you looking at?
Oh, just Henry stopping by to give a little kiss. Good thing dog's mouths are cleaner than humans!

HENRY!!!

Andy is DONE with kisses.

Bouncy Chair...

As noted below - Andy's favorite activity right now is his bouncy chair. I thought it would good to get him in action : )

25 things...

On facebook, people have been posting 25 interesting facts about themselves. I am working on mine, as I find it interesting to read. In the meantime, I decided to list 25 things about Andy as a 6 month old. These items probably are similar to something you would see from an "average" 6 month old, but I want to document the "unique" observations we have made about Andy.
1. I look forward to seeing Andy's smile every morning when I peer over his crib. It helps me get up in the morning (and sometimes Kyle and I fight over it)!
2. Andy's favorite food right now is bananas (other than his mommy's milk).
3. Andy's favorite blankie is his ducky given to him by his great-aunt galen and great-uncle bruce.
4. Andy's current favorite activity is the bouncy chair.
5. Andy only likes binkies like the ones from the hospital.
6. Andy loves bath-time and splashing with his legs and feet.
7. If Andy doesn't have his binky, he is happy sucking on his 2 fingers, just like his daddy did.
8. To help himself fall asleep and sleep soundly, Andy thumps his legs (both legs at a time). Good thing he sleeps right above us - haha.
9. Andy is ticklish under his arms, sides, feet, and his neck. When you get him, he gives the best belly laugh.
10. I love that I can see my husband in my son.
11. Andy's biggest dislike is getting his nose picked or face cleaned off (for some reason I can't stand it when he has boogies).
12. Andy does not like formula...yikes...we are working on this one.
13. Andy would much rather be on his back than his tummy and usually will roll to his back eventually and stay there. It will be interesting to see him learn to crawl from his back : )
14. Andy's most mellow time of day is morning and fussiest time is mid-afternoon.
15. Andy is lucky to have both sets of grandparents within a 10 mile radius. (AND his aunties, uncles, cousins, and great-grandparents too!)
16. Andy loves white noise - it keeps him calm or puts him to sleep.
17. Andy has a cousin who is 2 1/2 weeks older than he is. What a lucky guy!
18. Andy is mesmerized by the TV (uh-oh) and by lights.
19. Andy loves getting kisses from his dog, Henry...for about 5 seconds.
20. In 6 months, Andy has been on 5 trips...4 requiring him to fly, and he has been outside the country. Good thing kids fly free!
21. Andy only has been sick once, which is right now. It is so hard to not be able to fix your baby's owies!
22. Andy's newest fascination is hair and glasses...and pulling it out or off.
23. Andy rubs his ears when he is falling asleep and sleeps with both hands by his head. It looks so peaceful.
24. Andy is the youngest of 6 grandchildren on one side of the family and the only grandchild on the other side of the family.
25. Andy was named after Kyle's maternal family name, Anderson, and has his mom's maiden name, Campbell, as his middle name. So...he has three last names!

Valentine's Day

We celebrated Valentine's Day the way we love to celebrate. We picked up our favorite foods...salads and pizza from Varlamos and our favorite pink cookies from UW. We opened up one of our bottles of wine we brought home from France (from Gigondas) and popped in our Wedding Video. It was so fun to re-live our wedding day (4 1/2 years ago) and reflect on all that has happened since that day.

During the wedding video, there is a picture montage that includes baby pictures of Kyle and me. Okay, I give in...Andy looks exactly like his daddy. There are two pictures that could be Andy. Andy may have my lips, but they are on Kyle's mouth...so I can't even claim Andy's mouth! I guess I can claim that Andy has my blue eyes...but only the color - everything else is Kyle. I can't complain one bit - when I found out we were having a boy...I envisioned a mini-Kyle running besides his daddy with a tool belt. I guess our vision came true! What can I say, Andy is a lucky guy (coming from mother and wife - haha).

6 months!

Andy has met the 6 month milestone. He is growing before our eyes! He currently has his first real cold...cough, buggies, rattle in his chest. It is so hard to witness a little 6 month old with a cold. Not much we can do! We have Andy's 6 month check up on Friday, so we'll see how he is matching up against the statistics. I am learning how lucky we are to have such a "mellow dude". He likes to play by himself, he is entertained relatively easily, he can be passed to almost anyone without a fuss, he sleeps through the night, takes naps, is eating solids (2 meals a day!) and isn't picky with food. We have become pros at changing diapers as he poops every time he eats. I guess he has a good metabolism?!? Andy still has his belly laugh, and he is experimenting with new sounds...high pitch squeals. It's cute for about 10 seconds : ) His hands and feet still fascinate him, and he is reaching for things with both hands. When on his tummy, he scoots in circles, but we still have a ways to go until he sits up. He likes to stand with help and loves bouncing in anything that allows him to bounce. Overall - we're enjoying the little milestones and thankful for our little guy.

Palm Desert - Round #3

Okay, I know I am spoiled. Andy and I have been down to PD 3 times...definitely taking advantage of my maternity leave and the opportunity for some vitamin D. I start work 2 weeks from tomorrow - and am grateful I have been able to spend so much time with Andy. We had fun with the Warme Girls, Auntie B, and Ka, despite getting sick. It's amazing how a little sunshine makes everything seem better!
