The Hunger Games

For Betsy's birthday, she wanted to have a night out with her sisters and our husbands.  Lucky for her (ME!) The Hunger Games came out the same weekend as her birthday.  What a perfect way to celebrate!  I am a little obsessed with the books, and the movie didn't disappoint.  Thanks to Connie for watching the kids while we had an adult night out!

Early Easter Egg Hunt

Since we are going to be out of town for Easter, we had an early Easter Egg hunt with Gamma.  It was one of our few nice days, so we were able to be outside.  The kids had a blast and we had fun watching.

A little leftover chocolate on Andy's chin

Katie was ready for her nap...can you tell?!?

Happy 6th Birthday Robbie!

Robbie's 6th birthday was at Sky High (trampoline jumping).  We almost didn't make it as Andy got his first ear infection and Katie missed naps due to taking Andy to the doctor.  BUT, Andy was a trooper and didn't let a silly old ear infection stop him from enjoying his cousins party (that he had been looking forward to ALL week).  So we went - Andy had a blast, Katie was a mess.  I was hoping to get a few pictures of them jumping, but I'm happy that I took any at all.  Happy birthday Robbie Dobbs.  We love you!

Birthday Boy!
I had to include this expression of May.  She was saying, "NI NI, LOOK, (gasp!) Katie's WALKING!"  I think Betsy is going to be seeing this look a lot in the teenage years : )
The three Amigos
Ahhh, Miller
An ear infection won't stop this guy from enjoy a good party!

Makin' Cookies

Callie and Nick came over to our house while Mollie had an appointment.  My kids were FULL of energy, so I needed something to focus their energy on.  I decided to make some cookies and frosting and let them have at it.  We had fun and end I sent home a big box of cookies with Callie (sorry Moll and Ry!).

Art Projects

I have been trying to be "creative" with my art projects.  Meaning, I have been trying to use materials I already have at home and turn them into something fun for the kids.  I had some crowns, stickers, jewels, and a glue gun...so we turned Andy and Katie into super kings and queens with their matching capes (and it was jammy day).  Check out Katie's shiner - she bonked her cheek in the shower and now has a black eye.  Poor girl!

First Progress Report for Andy

We had our first parent/teacher conferences at Andy's preschool.  They walked through a day at school and how Andy did every 15 minutes.  This was his report:

Strengths:
Andy is very articulate and well spoken.
Has a good sense of humor.
Cheerful disposition.
Sweet personality.
Very bright.

GOALS:
Continue to encourage Andy to develop his "own space."
Encourage Andy to use his words.
Encourage good listening skills.
Continue to nurture Andy and help him develop his social skills.

We are proud of Andy and also have a lot to work on : )

Dance Party

We had a wild Friday night...Pizza and a dance party : )  Kyle and I were thoroughly entertained watching our kids ham it up.  Katie was copying everything that Andy was doing.  I didn't really capture the best moves, but had to document.  They got their stools out to act as a dance stage and turned the lamp on them for a spotlight.

A little paint

After collecting some "heart-shaped" rocks on the beach, we decided to get the paints out.  I always thought that I would be the type of mom that would let my kids go crazy with art projects/baking.  I loved getting in flour fights, making a mess while crafting, etc.  With two little ones, I find that art projects end up being a lot more stressful than the joy/lessons that they create.  I am hoping this mentality will shift soon?!?  We had a fun time painting in the basement and it was a huge help to have Kyle to help manage "the mess."  Katie was covered from head to toe by the end!

Golden Gardens

We ventured to Golden Gardens despite the cold, rainy weather on Saturday.  It snowed yesterday...and it's almost spring.  Booooo.  We're trying to not let this winter weather prevent us from getting outside - but I was SO COLD that I had to go sit in the car to warm up.  Thanks for the recommendation Amy!  We hadn't been to Golden Gardens in awhile and it was nice to be on a beach, throw rocks, run Henry, and then go play at the awesome new playground.
