Snow-shoeing!

We took advantage of the snow in the neighborhood and went snowshoeing around Rogers Park, Queen Anne Bowl, and up to Starbucks (for me) and Safeway (for a sandwich for Kyle). We had so much fun and definitely got our snow-fix, since we won't be heading to Sun Valley this year.

Looking good Kyle...like those gators!

Making my way down the street...still in shock that this is our neighborhood. So much snow!

Can you see the smile on Henry's face? Blue sky, powder snow...would have been a nice ski day. We had fun though.

Stop at Starbucks to warm up!

December Storm Round II

Since we are not anticipating another storm to hit Seattle like this one...for at least awhile, we had to document our house under 10 inches of snow. Also, Kyle insisted on making a snowman. I decided to stay inside where it was warm and dry. When asked to come out to take pictures of the snowman, I discovered it was a "snow-woman". Seriously? This is what happens when my husband is stuck inside...you all know he can't sit still.

Anderson Family Christmas

As a tradition, we host the Anderson Family at our house, usually a few days before Christmas. We put Andy in a few Christmas outfits, and had fun getting ready for the day. As usual, we had a great time...but as soon as guests arrived, I forgot to get the camera out. So...anyone reading this, if you have pictures, please send my way : )

Rice Cereal

We fed Andy rice cereal for the first time this week. I don't know how much he actually ate, as most of it ended up on his bib, face, or on me. Henry was keeping a close eye on the food and was jealous of the attention we were giving Andy. Goes to show that our dog will eat anything! It was nice to have a change in routine and do something else to feed Andy, although it wasn't easy! The bonus is that he has slept through the night for 2 nights in a row now. I am not getting my hopes up that we are starting a new routine in sleep, but I will take what I can get.

Cozy by the fire

As "December Storm 2008" Round II is hitting, we are staying inside listening to Christmas music and cozied up to the fire. So fun to see Andy snuggle with his dog and fall asleep next to the fire (with his favorite monkey blankie).

Love this outfit...and check out Andy's "skullet"

The snow keeps coming!

Since the snow has stayed around - we have tried to be creative with activities. We walked to the store with Henry and Andy - which Henry loved. Kyle had to circle Safeway as I picked up groceries...I could hear Henry barking from inside the store. Fun times. Since we are heading to warm weather after Christmas, we are enjoying the winter wonderland that we have and want it to keep snowing! If only we could get up skiing!!!

Happy in his cozy outfit

4 months stats

Andy had his 4-month appointment last week. We had lots of questions - as I am sure all new parents have. Since Andy still is not sleeping through the night, we are going to try rice cereal...as my sister says, a major milestone. We'll see how Andy takes to it. It would be nice to get a good night's sleep and not have to depend on my morning coffee so much!
Andy's Stats at 4 months:
Weight: 13.7 pounds (10% - 25%)
Height: 25.25 inches (50% - 75%)
Head: 40.1 centimeters (10%)
So...according to his stats, Andy is long, lean, with a tiny head. At least he is growing : )

Let it snow!

Andy experienced his first snow with the recent Seattle weather. We put him in his "snow clothes" and went to the park across the street. I think mommy and daddy were more excited than Andy, but we had a fun family outing!

4 months old!

Wow - how time is flying by. I started this blog when I was 4 months along in my pregnancy, and now our baby boy is 4 months. Andy continues to bring us joy and laughter. His gut filled giggles, his fascinations with his hands, his leg thumping as he falls asleep...we are loving all of his new habits and discoveries. Sleep still is a guessing game...each night is a surprise. Overall, Andy is a mellow guy and loves "white noise". He does really well in loud places - restaurants, airplanes, waiting in the line for Santa : ) His little blankie monkey, horse, and elephant are his favorite to sleep with in his car seat, and he still chooses the hospital binky over any other. We finally have graduated to his jumpy and exersaucer, which helps mommy (and makes her worry less about flat-head). Andy's hair is starting to grow in...blond. Big surprise! His eyes are still as blue as ever and his fingers and toes are string beans. We have our 4 month check up next week and are curious to see what his "stats" are. He definitely is growing by the day and we are loving every minute!

Santa

We ventured downtown to visit Santa. After 2 hours of waiting, we finally got to see Santa...and he was a great Santa. Mommy and Daddy were filled with cookies and cider while waiting in line, which made it easier to wait. It's amazing how much more meaningful these traditions are with a baby! Andy was very interested in Santa...not necessarily happy, but not sad. He was a trooper!

Candy Cane Lane

We continued our family tradition of visiting Candy Cane Lane (now called Christmas Creek) in North Bend. I use to go with my dad as a little girl (okay, all the way up until I was married and my parents succumbed to the fake tree tradition). Now, I am excited to share this tradition with Andy. Kyle and I have gone for the past 4 years, but it added a special meaning to have Andy there. Although we didn't wait in line to see Santa, get hot cider, or the yummy cookies (due to the long line and the lack of appreciation from a 4 month old), we chopped down our tree to continue the tradition.

Mum & Papa

Andy is very fortunate to have both sets of great-grandparents on the Campbell/Kettering side to visit. We visited Mum and Papa and we take advantage and cherish the precious moments we have with them.

Thanksgiving in Palm Desert

This year we spent the week of Thanksgiving down in Palm Desert. Andy enjoyed some more sunshine and pool time...and so did his mommy and daddy! We played with cousins Maggie and Masin and enjoyed seeing GP and Grandma Jane. Our friends, the Wises were down as well - so Andy spent time with Jack and Ellie. Overall, the trip was amazing. Andy had a tough time sleeping in a new environment, but that's about all I can complain about! He continues to grow (see tummy, cheeks below), and is loving making bubbles, raspberries, playing with his hands, grabbing things, swinging in his swing, smiling, and laughing from his gut (which is our favorite!). We have a LOT to be thankful for! Thanks Ka and Bapa for a special trip!
