Thanks to Betsy and Pinterest, we recreated this idea. Andy loved being part of the project of making the jar (of course, Lightening McQueen themed), and he has really gotten into the idea. He loves getting caught being good and gets excited when he gets to add a cotton ball. The prize after a full jar is a trip as a family to get ice cream. Sounds good to me!! Katie doesn't quite get it and doesn't have as many opportunities to get caught being good these days. Hopefully she'll catch on...that sassy girl!

Our family portrait...
As mentioned, Andy isn't much into drawing. Well, lately, he has been excited to draw our family. Here's the latest family portrait. I love it! He always is asking "when am I going to as big as daddy?" Here he is VERY tall and pointed out that he has two sets of eyes. So funny to see the perspective from a 4 year old.

Thanksgiving
We packed up and headed up to Whidbey for Thanksgiving. We picked up my parents at the airport and headed up. Bets and Mol prepped and cooked everything, which was so great. We were able to arrive and eat : ) It was HUGE to be able to not even think about much at all except for packing up the kids and heading up. Dinner was really yummy and it was fun to continue a tradition that we used to have growing up. I didn't take any pictures of Thanksgiving or the day after (devastating Apple Cup loss), but I did pull out the camera on Saturday. It was a beautiful day and a great day for a beach walk. We also had the kids make Christmas trees from cones. They were meant for decoration, but the kids decided to eat them instead. The Lentz family already headed home, so I only got a few pictures from my phone with them. It was a fun weekend and great to have some new scenery after hibernating for two weeks!

Andy's Adventures
As mentioned, Andy has loved having a new sister...mostly since he gets to spend unlimited time with his dad. He also has been really sweet to Abi. Whenever he talks to her, he uses a high pitched voice and talks like a baby. He too says "I love you" often and likes to observe what I am doing. One night when I was feeding Abi, Andy showed me this picture that he drew of our family. Andy normally does not like to draw, so I loved his spontaneous drawing of all 5 of us.
You can't see Andy's face very well, but he is beaming from ear to ear. Who thought someone could get so excited to go for a run in the POURING down rain. I guess he was cozy : )
Katie reading to Abi
Katie has wanted to be as involved as possible with anything to do with Abi. She will feed her baby, "patt patt" her baby, swaddle her baby, just like I do with Abi. She calls her sister "Agibail" and every time Katie leaves the room she says, "I wuv you Abi." She will give kisses on her head any chance she gets and always asks where she is. My favorite was when Katie decided to read to Abi. It was pretty darn cute. I love seeing her in her "big sister" role.
Bath Time Round #2
I remember photos from when Andy and Katie were little snuggled up in their towels. I had to capture Abi too!
Goldie and Fishy
We decided that the with the arrival of Abi, we should give Andy and Katie something to take care of as well. Kyle took them to the pet store and picked out two fish - one silver one and one gold one. They were so excited and waited until they got home to name them - Andy's is goldie and Katie's is fishy. One week later, goldie has floated to the top of the fish bowl (Andy hasn't noticed yet) and fishy has exploded with life. We're afraid that fishy got a little too aggressive for goldie.
Weekend Visitors
We had a relaxed weekend with fun visitors.
The Johnsons came over with homemade mac n cheese and a cozy personalized blanket for Abi. Thank you! We loved our visit and seeing Charlotte in her element.

Kristin and Ty came over with some yummy chili with all the fixings and an adorable outfit. Andy and Katie loved seeing Ty and I loved catching up with my friend : )
Our neighbors, Justin, Elyssa, and Bernd came over with pizza and salad. It was fun to have Andy and Katie and Bernd interract and to spend time with our fun neighbors!
Katie loved her cupcakes from KP
Go Huskies!
We spent our first weekend home cozied in at our house and got some fun visitors. I spent most of the weekend feeding Abi while Kyle was in charge of Andy and Katie.
The kids watched the Husky game from the kitchen counter (hmmmm, do you think they have dad wrapped around their fingers?).
A visit from the Lentz Family
The Lentz Family came over for a visit to meet baby Abi. They too were so excited to hold and love on her. Then, Andy went over to their house for a slumber party. You would have thought he was offered to go to Disneyland because he was SOOOO excited. He had a blast, and it was a nice break to be back to two for the night. Thanks Mol!
Aquarium and Children's Museum Fun
I think that the kids are going to have a rough time once Kyle officially goes back to work. To get the kids out of the house and do something fun, Kyle has been taking the kids on fun adventures. Kyle took the kids to the Aquarium and the Children's Museum and sent me pictures while they were out and about. They had a blast and it was nice to have some time to take a nap and take care of Abi.
