Cancun

Andy now is a World Traveller! We survived our Mexico trip - and Andy was a SAINT. I think he likes the warm weather. The flight down we had a blow out on the first leg - so we were lucky to have an extra outfit. Otherwise, the flight, the stay, you name it - Andy was a model baby. Today is a new day...I think he enjoyed the pattern of us not taking him out of our arms and sight every second as paranoid first parents in a foreign country. Now when we leave the room, he cries!
We had a blast and are so appreciative of our baby boy. A tropical vacation with a newborn definitely is different than one without a baby - but we wouldn't change it for a second!

3 months old!

Andy will be 3 months old on Wednesday, November 12th. We were pleasantly surprised that he slept through the night for the first time last night - 9:00 pm - 6:00am! It's amazing how much energy I feel this morning : ) I worked out, had breakfast AND checked my e-mail all before the 8:00 hour! To accomplish one of these things during the entire day is a fete these days. Yeah for my little sleeper. Although I know it may only be a one night wonder...and I may be back up at the wee hours tonight, today is a celebration day!

At three months, Andy is starting to show a personality. He is persistent (hitting toys, grabbing hair, pulling off mommy's glasses), he is smiley, he made his first raspberry yesterday, and he is trying to mimic mommy's and daddy's facial expressions. It's amazing to look into his eyes and see him concentrating so much on things - just wish I could see into his mind. His eyes still are blue, but we know that still may change, and he is gaining weight in his cheeks, belly, and thighs. Glad to know my milk is working! Andy also allows big brother Henry to lick his face, hands and toes...for about one minute.

We leave for Mexico on Saturday, and can't wait to spend time as a family. I never could imagine life could be so joyful...I am in love with my little boy!

Halloween 2008

Andy did a costume change and we tried to put him in a red hot chili pepper costume...but it didn't last. So, pumpkins were the theme this year!

Grandma and Grandpa Graebner, with our little chili pepper in the middle Much more comfortable in his pumpkin outfit
After trick-or-treating at Grandpa & Grandma Graebner's we went to the Lentz household and played with cousins. The Warme girls were Cinderella and Snow White and the Lentz kids were Alivin, Simon, and Theodore. So cute!

11 Weeks Old...

Andy continues to grow and change. He is smiling, giggling, cooing, and we think he is pretty darn lovable!

Pumpkin Parade

This week has been a big week, with Andy's first Halloween and all of the festivities. In addition, Betsy has been on bedrest, so we have been helping out by entertaining her girls and taking on her mom duties. Since it was Halloween week, Maggie had her Pumpkin Parade at her pre-school. It was a blast helping her as Cinderella : ) In the meantime, we hope that Betsy can rest and recover and continue with a healthy pregnancy.
Smiling Cinderella...she loved her silky gloves : )

Our 'lil Pumpkin

For an early Halloween, Andy and I went to the annual Gamma Phi Beta Trick-or-Treat. Mostly, it's a chance for us girls to catch up...but this was Andy's first experience in a sorority. We had a lot of fun and were able to play with Callie, Robbie, and Nick too. Mom ate all of the candy for Andy : ) I use to dread the "alumni trick-or-treat" night when I lived in the house, but last night made up for all of those years dressing up for the alumni.

Husky Homecoming

As you can tell from our new "blog header" we had a family outing to the Husky Game on Saturday. We were lucky to have amazing weather!

It has been a tradition for over 20 years to head down with my dad onto the Husky Field at the UW Homecoming Game half-time. All UW Lettermen graduates get to make a tunnel with their letter blankets for the Husky football players as they come out after half-time. It is one of my favorite traditions with my dad, and Andy was able to participate in the tradition this year. We even were able to get a picture with Harry the Husky. Thanks Dad!

Halloween Cookies

To get into the Halloween Spirit, we decided to make and decorate Halloween cookies today. Andy is a little confused, but Maggie and Masin know how it works!
Andy wondering...mom - what did you just put on my belly?
YUMMY! I think I'll take a big bite!
Maggie gives her cookies 2 thumbs up! (yes, there are 4 gummy worms on her cookie on the right)
MJ - post nap, diving into her pumpkin cookie. She is saving some for later on her face : )

Playing at the park...

During this fall weather, we decided to play at the Bellevue Park. Mags and Masin were my models : )
