Palm Desert - Arroyo time

Every night the sun sets behind the mountains and creates a warm glow.  I took the camera out and captured Andy playing.  Bubbles, popcorn, and bikes!

March - Palm Desert

I was lucky to get down to the sunshine for the first 10 days in March.  I don't know what it is - but this winter I really have been bummed out by the weather.  It seems to be extra gloomy and dark.  Getting down to Palm Desert for 10 days with the kids was just what the doctor ordered.  The weather was beautiful and warm and we played hard every day.  Both kids were fighting colds, but it didn't slow us down too much.  We went for our morning walk, headed to the pool (Katie's first time in the pool!), afternoon naps, and evening golf.  Unfortunately, Kyle couldn't join us, but I was lucky to have my mom helping the whole week and we had some great mom-daughter time.  We also were lucky to have a last-minute surprise and have my dad with us for four days!  Andy and Bapa had some good bonding time swimming, golfing, and reading books.  Thanks mom and dad for really great time away.  I am not so happy to be back in rainy, windy Seattle.

Co-op

Andy attends the Magnolia Co-op once a week - Fridays from 9:15 - 11:15.  It has been so much fun being a part of the co-op community for both Andy and me.  I took some pictures of his class last month and here are a few.

Suncadia

We headed up to Suncadia for a last-minute weekend away with the Warmes.  It snowed quite a bit and we enjoyed time in the snow with our kids.  Since we aren't quite at the skiing age, we snow-shoed and went sledding during the day and watched movies, played games, and drank wine at night.  Despite both of my kids feeling under-the-weather, we had a great trip.
Right after we arrived and had put the kids down for their movie night.

Lots of laughter

Sweet Valentine

Even though Andy didn't really understand the idea around making/giving/receiving valentines - it is one of my favorite holidays for kids, and I decided to get him involved.  I took out a big piece of paper and had him draw away.  He loved being able to "draw-draw" to his heart's content!  I then used his artwork to create valentines for Andy's pre-school class.  We also made sugar cookies and spent an afternoon with sprinkles and cookie dough.  It was a good excuse to be creative.  I am a sucker when it comes to holidays as I love to dress in themes.  We all were decked out in red, pink, and purple and of course I had Katie wearing her new headband.

After pre-school, I captured the kids interacting with each other.  It's so fun to see them communicate in their own way.

Whidbey Weekend

For the past few years, the Warmes and Graebners have headed up to Whidbey to celebrate Valentine's Day.  We continued the tradition this year and had a great time.  Considering the Seattle weather hasn't been the best, we cozied up inside and enjoyed a yummy crab fettuccine dinner.  Here are the kids in action.
