11 great-grandchildren

What happens when you try to get 11 great grandchildren to smile for the camera???...chaos!!

October Sunshine

We have had some pretty amazing weather this October, which almost makes up for the lack of sun this summer.  Well, not really, but I am enjoying it while it lasts! The Warmes came over at the beginning of October for some fun in the park, and as you have noticed, I am behind on my blogging.

Andy loves the park across from our house
Yep, another airplane

Stay tuned for more of the Warmes - but these crack me up

Hmmm...where do they get it?

Locked out

One of my biggest fears came true yesterday.  I went to get the mail yesterday and Andy shut the door behind me - locking him in the house with his sister on the floor.  If it was just Andy, and Katie was in a "safe" place away from her brother, I wouldn't have worried as much.  BUT, I just had given Andy time-out for picking up his sister by her shirt.  There I was, looking in, feeling completely helpless.  I tried to communicate with Andy to open the door, but he just sat on the stool by the door giving me a big smile as he waved at me and said "hi mama!" over and over again.  PANIC.  Luckily our dear neighbor, Mary, has a key and she was home because my negotiation skills were not working with Andy.  Lesson learned.

Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend we went to the Carpinito Brothers U-Pick Pumpkin Patch and had a blast!  It was fun to see my friend Misty and their set-up is pretty incredible.  Andy had a blast picking out his carrot (yes, he gets confused about the orange and green) and I'm not sure if Andy or Kyle had more fun in the corn maze.  I still am dreaming about the hot roasted corn - and the fresh veggies were SO good.  We'll be back!  Andy, of course, picked out two BIG pumpkins and struggled to walk in his rain boots.  He doesn't look very happy in a lot of the pictures - but he was too excited and busy looking for pumpkins and at all of the scenery to stop for pictures.  I don't blame him : )

Searching for Andy's pumpkin
Found it!
Looking for daddy's approval
Checking out the veggies
Happy to get his boots off : )
He looks so tiny!
Come on mom!

52 card pick-up

Andy loves playing with his cards.  His great-grandma, "Mum," gave them to him for his birthday.  He loves going through the names and colors and he loves putting them all over the house.  The latest game is dumping them in our "bucket" in the living room, climbing in the bucket and dumping them on the floor - over and over.  It keeps him busy for awhile, so it works for me : )  While Andy was busy with his game Katie was enjoying some tummy time.  Note the scullet is in full force!

good neighbors

We are super lucky to have good neighbors (well, mostly good neighbors).  Our neighbors across the street are great and we enjoyed a fun dinner with them on Monday.  Elyssa made the BEST panna cotta and was so sweet to make Andy a special jello treat (I destroyed it attempting to put it on his tray).  He was having fun trying to spell his name - but the letters came out differently every time - "look!  ACNL!"  When is he suppose to know his letters?  Thanks for a fun dinner Elyssa and Justin!

opscul man

Last week we heard the popsicle man in the neighborhood.  Actually, I didn't hear him because who expects to have the popsicle man the last day of September?!?  Kyle heard him and got really excited.  He ran around the block with Andy and caught him.  Andy saw that the popsicle man had his favorite - ice cream, and since it was the last "run" of a the season, we got a great deal with buy two and get the third free (note sarcasm).  Ever since our encounter with the popsicle man, Andy has been calling all treats "opscul man".  He thought the ice cream itself was the popsicle man.  Silly guy.  Now he calls all treats opscul man - and even calls the freezer opscul man.  You can see below that he enjoyed his opscul man : )

Yep, that's Henry in the background waiting to grab any morsel that drops to the ground

fat jeans

Yes, you read that right, fat jeans.  Hooray for fat jeans.  I know the trend right now is skinny jeans, but I am thrilled for fat jeans.  You know the jeans that you put on and they just feel cozy - the ones that you put on at the beginning of the fall when you had a little too much fun over the summer?  Well, after a year of wearing maternity clothes, I finally fit into my fat jeans.  It is the best feeling to wear clothes that aren't labeled "maternity" - especially after you've had the baby : )

Happy Day Ty!

Andy's buddy, Tyler Rose, turned one yesterday.  We went to a birthday party/housewarming/husky party on Saturday to celebrate Ty's big birthday.  All day on Saturday, Andy was exclaiming - "Happy Day Ty" because he can't quite say "birthday."  He also was pretty excited that we were going to be watching football and kept saying, "GO HUSKIES."  The Roses new home is beautiful and a perfect spot to watch the game.  We decided to take the adorable cupcakes home as we know how Andy gets with cupcakes.  Andy definitely enjoyed his cupcake - and Kyle enjoyed changing his purple poops on Sunday : )

Great for finger painting too

boobie

In a previous post - I mentioned a summary of my life these days is the following three things:  coffee, wine, and my breast pump (btw, still holds true).  Well, last week, when Andy walked into our bedroom, he pointed at my pump and said, "boobie."  He then proceeded to make the pump noise, "meh, meh, meh, meh."  I started cracking up - seriously?  This morning, he saw both of the pump pieces sitting on the kitchen counter and he exclaimed - "two boobies!" and then continued to make the pump noise, "meh, meh, meh, meh."  Well, he may be confused what a "boobie" is, and he may be damaged for life, but he confirmed that he is one observant little dude.
