We had a big first day in our house. It was Katie's first day of Pre-K, Andy's first day of Kindergarten, and Abi started walking! We did our obligatory pictures in front of the door, dropped of Katie and then dropped off Andy. Katie walked right in like it was no big deal. Her teachers are Teacher Laura and Sadie, the same teachers Andy had last year. Andy has Ms. Marks. He is in class with Brooklyn and Kai from his PreK class last year. Andy was a little tentative, but much more easy-going than his first day of jump start. The school takes an all school picture on the first day and Andy looked so little among the sea of the whole QAE community. Once Andy walked into the classroom, he was ready to start!
After an emotional and proud send-off, Kyle, Abi and I headed to a meet and greet in the cafeteria. I was invited to two brunches - one serving mimosas and one serving bloody mary's. Not a bad way to start off the year for all of us! While at one of the brunches, Abi decided to walk across the room. Not knowing many of the new moms, I didn't react - although my jaw probably dropped. Then, at home, she decided today was the day she was going to be an official walker. We celebrated the day with a trip to Starbucks for treats.
