Whidbey - Week of Vacation

I spent the week up on Whidbey.  Kyle commuted from work each night and biked from Mukilteo.  It was a HOT week, so being on the Island was a relief from the hot city.  We enjoyed the warm weather with evenings on the beach, daily trips to the swimming pool, beach walks, and lots and lots of popsicles.  Andy invented the "stuck game" and "Andy Island."  When the tide comes in, little islands are created and Andy loved to "get stuck" or ask us to join him on "Andy Island."  We often looked in the "far away glasses" to see what ship was passing in the channel or what bird was diving for fish.  Katie was pretty much tied to Ka's hip the whole week.

Thanks to Ka and Bapa for loving our kids so much and for helping out this week.  Andy and Katie obviously adore you!  Katie often times would wake up from naps/in the morning and see me...and immediately ask, "Ka?"  I often heard, "Ka go?" or "Ka do it" or "Ka help?" Bapa and Andy were buddies too - painting the fence, swimming at the pool, stomping for goey ducks.  A very memorable week!

A pretty nice night for a Paddle Board!

Birthday Night In The Sound

Here a some pictures from the evening of Andy's birthday - a warm night of playing in the water.  I (obviously) couldn't put my camera down : )

4th Birthday Celebration

Andy's birthday fell on a Sunday this year, so Kyle and I got a full day with him.  We kicked the morning off with banana/chocolate pancakes (his favorite).  Andy then went to the Anderson family picnic with Kyle and Katie.  I wasn't feeling well, so I stayed at Whidbey and rested.  When they returned home, we celebrated with the Warmes and Ka and Bapa during dinner and with a chocolate and cookie dough ice cream cake with an oreo crust.  Chocolate is Andy's favorite.  Kyle took the Monday off after Andy's birthday, so we were lucky to have a care-free night up on Whidbey as a family. It was a beautiful day (besides a sick mama) and we enjoyed our big 4 year old!
