Palm Desert: Golf - Katie's Turn

Katie is at a stage where she is wanting to mimic whatever Andy is doing.  So, when Andy went golfing, she too wanted to golf.  She could be his shadow and would not get out of the golf cart when she found out Andy was golfing.  So, she came along for the ride.  Then, she practiced some on her own.

Palm Desert: Golf with Bapa

Andy's favorite afternoon activity was playing golf with his Bapa!  The pictures at the end are of Andy giving his "thumbs up" after a good day of golf.  Too cute!

Palm Desert: Golf with the Lentz Crew

We were lucky to play some golf during our time in the Desert.  Andy loved playing with his cousins!

Palm Desert: Easter with Grandma Jane

We were lucky to go to Grandma Jane's place to celebrate an Easter carnival.  The kids had a blast playing golf, dominating the dunk tank, making crafts, eating sno-cones and hot dogs and visiting with Grandma Jane.  Thanks for a fun day!

Palm Desert: Easter

Easter 2012 was fun.  We started the morning off with opening Easter baskets and doing an indoor Easter egg hunt.  Then we headed over to the clubhouse egg hunt where they had a bunch of activities - balloon animals, bouncy house, etc.  The kids were pretty tired after a busy morning!

The loot!
Andy stopped to show us each item in his basket
So Katie decided to copy him (she is his shadow these days!).
Bernstein Bears - his favorite!
Katie found an egg!
After she found her first egg, she was done.  All she wanted to do is sit and open/close the egg and dump the jelly beans out and refill them.  Ahhh, the simple things.
Andy's first year of understanding the "competition" of an egg hunt.  Katie wanted NOTHING to do with it.  Can you tell?

Palm Desert: Pre-Easter Pool Party

We had a great time in Palm Desert!  We enjoyed a lot of sunshine, pool time, golfing and friends.  Many of my parent's neighbors were down for the Easter weekend, so we had a 1st Annual Pre-Easter Pool party to get everyone together.  The kids had fun together and the below pictures include the following families:  Graebner, Lentz, Wise, Tritz, Freer, D'Ambrosio, and Garrett.

Andy: The sippy cup without a stopper

We are down in Palm Desert right now - which has been wonderful and also why I haven't updated the blog in awhile.  The good news is that we have enjoyed a lot of sunshine...the bad news is that Kyle had to go home AND got the flu the night before his flight AND so did I...AND Andy got it tonight.  I don't think Andy has ever thrown up, until now.

As we were getting ready for bed, Andy asked for some water.  Katie wanted some too.  I explained to Andy that I was going to give him a sippy cup (which he doesn't really drink out of anymore).  This is how our conversation went.

Me:  Andy, your cup doesn't have a stopper, so be careful not to spill
Andy:  Why doesn't mine have a stopper?
Me:  Because you're a big boy and big boys don't need stoppers
Andy:  Does Katie's have a stopper?
Me:  Yes
Andy:  Because she's a baby and I'm a big boy?
Me:  Yep.  Andy how are you feeling?
Andy:  Mom, I'm missing my stopper.
Me:  What do you mean?
Andy:  My stopper wasn't working and that's why the throw up came out.

Gotta love the way the 3 1/2 year-old mind works.  Here's to hoping his stopper works for the rest of the trip : )
