Snowflake Lane

My memory of Snowflake Lane from last year was a magical performance where the kids could watch the snowflake princesses and drummer boys and see the snow floating in the sky.  Well, this year, we waited a little too long to head to Snowflake Lane.  Note to self - go BEFORE school gets out for the holiday.  It was jam-packed, fight for space, barely able to see the drummer boy, grab a candy cane lollipop from the ground type of experience.  We still had fun...but will be heading back on a weeknight (not Sunday night) and hope we miss the crowds!

We met the Lentz Family and Ka and Bapa.  Katie was unsure about all of the people, noise, and commotion but eventually warmed up.  Andy thought it all was "awesome" and was excited to get his "treat" and hang with "the cousins."

Point Defiance Zoo

While I was working in December, Kyle took Andy to the Point Defiance Zoo with Ryan and the Lentz family.  I kept getting texts and phone messages about how much fun everyone was having.  I also received a report that Andy decided to go "nature pee" at the top of the slides at the playground.  So much for being "completely" potty trained.  From the pictures - looks like it was a great time.  The sharks and lights were the big hit!

Preschool Singalong

Andy's preschool does a sing-along for each of the special holidays.  The Christmas sing-along was hilarious.  Andy didn't really sing much, but he was very particular about the hand motions.  At one point - he told every to "STOP" we did the motions in the wrong order!  Kyle and I were giggling the whole time.  When Andy did sing, he sang loudly and was about 3 words behind everyone else. Silly guy!

Here's Andy's teacher Debbie.  Lined up on the floor behind her are the wrapped plates that all of the kids made for us for Christmas.  My favorite Christmas present!
If you look closely...Andy has the "tongue in cheek" look.  The nerves/excitement are evident : )

The Warmes

I spent an afternoon with the Warmes taking pictures when the leaves were at their prime in November.  I adore the pure joy kids get at throwing leaves.  It was freezing out...and they just wanted to keep playing.  Loved how these turned out and the people in them!

Cousins...expanding

I was fortunate to have cousins, close in age, who lived less than a 5 minute drive away.  The 3 Campbells and 3 Gravrocks have now produced 11 "great-grandchildren."  What happens when you put them all together on a blanket and tell them to smile?  Well, here you go!

I am so glad that these kids will grow up together.  Maybe a little more than a 5 minute drive, but we'll make sure they see each other a lot : )

Lauren Joan Rose

I was lucky to get to go to the hospital to see Lauren on her first day in this world!  It's been so fun to watch Kristin and Max first with Tyler and now with Lauren.  Welcome sweet girl!

Dylan Grace Burnett

First, I wanted to make sure to document the birth's of two of my favorite little girls this fall - Dylan Grace Burnett and Lauren Joan Rose. I know these little girls will be a part of our lives for a long time, so I wanted to make sure to get them in the books : ) It is so fun to add "automatic" friends to our kids lives.  Whether they like it or not...they are going to be friends for life!

Catching up...

Okay...I have been way behind in blogging.  There has been a lot going on these past few weeks.  Here goes a catch-up...starting way back in October!  Needing to get caught up for the blog books.  Stay tuned!

Andy and Preschool

Now that we are back to our "normal" schedule after a couple of weeks off for the holidays, I am more appreciative of Andy's preschool and how much energy he releases.  After his first day this week, he was so much calmer, he took a long nap, and he seemed happier.  I guess we don't provide enough excitement at home...and just more proof that I need to get out and "run" him every day.  It is so fun to see how much he enjoys his time at school.  Although, when we were asking how his days were, he always would answer - "Great!  I had so much fun!"  Always so positive and enthusiastic.  I must be a naive mom, as this probably should have been a clue that something was going on at preschool that he didn't want to talk about.  Hmmm.  Fast forward to Andy's "special meeting" in December.  Andy's teacher complimented him on his communication (aka he talks too much?!?) and loves how he calls all the teachers by their first name (aka he asks too many personal questions?!?).  He is very social and loves interacting with his classmates (aka...he HITS).  So, we are dealing with what it means to "use our words" instead of using our hands, blocks, body when we are frustrated.

I took these photos in November.  Andy looks so sweet in these pictures.  Maybe that's the issue - he has nailed down the "sweet little guy" look, but really...watch out...he'll take you out when you're least expecting it.  Sadly, he keeps picking on this little girl, Cate, when they play blocks together.  Supposedly he just hits out of nowhere...no warning...just BOOM, block in face.  So - we are taking this seriously as I don't want the kids at school to have a bad experience or get hurt (and we, of course, need to deal with what's causing this issue).  The teachers call Andy a "first timer." At first, I thought she was referring to me (which...I am), but she was referring to Andy.  Lovely.  Stay tuned.  We're hoping we can break the habit.
