Scavenger Hunt

Brendon (Unc B) set up a fun scavenger hunt for the kids. He was very creative - and the kids even had swords to fight off any pirates! They were excited as they had a pretty good idea that candy was at the end, although they didn't know they would run into a fish head along the way : )
The younger boys stayed back and enjoyed their treats
Andy was set with his "pirate" patch
Reading the map figuring out where to go
Watching the big kids go - and enjoying a leisure lollipop
Digging at the skull's head - gotta love Maggie's buns : )
Yuck - a fish head!
The map!
Digging for the treasure
Nice work Unc B!

The 4th!

On the actual 4th - we went to one of our favorite towns - Maxwelton. They put on a parade every year and it was the first time we went with kids. It was fun to see the big kids chase the candy and enjoy the time as a family.

I asked the kids to show me their candy and this is what I got!Andy wasn't quick enough to beat out the big kids, but they shared and Andy was a happy boyBaby Katie covering up from the noise and excitementNick was the lucky one to get the hat handed out to the crowdMags wanted to show me her candy again : )First lollipop!Callie and MolThe rest of the weekend was filled with yummy food. Ryan wanted to document this masterpiece of a fresh crab sandwich. It was GOOD.Fresh Salmon from Grandma Jane - she was showing us how it was done - yum!

4th of July Weekend - The 3rd

Our 4th of July is celebrated on the 3rd of July. It has been a tradition to celebrate up on Whidbey with the extended Ault family. This year was no exception. The Sandy Hook community on Whidbey has a fire works show on the 3rd every year (cheaper), so we get to enjoy the show a night early. I had a hard time staying up for the fireworks this year as sleep was lacking - but we made it and Katie enjoyed her first fireworks show.

Katie didn't have any official 4th of July outfits since she was so small - so we went with a touch of red.

Janie and crew made a yummy dinner along with Cheetah's famous Daiquiris and Margaritas and all the kids and adults had a great time. Well, except for Andy - he was afraid of the fireworks - poor guy!

Enjoying some beach time and sunset time

This was Andy's fourth brownie - he still struggles to sit down and eat a good meal, but he'll never pass up dessert : )

4th of July Weekend - The 2nd

We headed up to Whidbey for an extra long weekend and I ended up staying for 10 days it was so relaxing. It was nice to be able to have the extra help with Andy and Katie - and it was an escape from the every day chores of reality. On Friday, before the whole family came up, Kyle and I were up there with the Lentz family and Ka. Katie was only 2 1/2 weeks old - so we still were figuring each other out : )
Here's Andy giving Katie kisses. When we say "gentle"- he gives her kisses and then says "oh...so nice" in his sweet little voice. He also likes to give her high-fives and say "oh, yeah!"

Yawning in Ka's arms

Nickers

Ever since Katie has arrived, Henry has been sneaky and has broken some ground rules - aka, not sitting on the couch. This is a moment when I caught him on the couch. Hard to get mad at him since he hasn't been getting the attention he is used to after Katie's arrival.

Long fingers and big lips!

Beautiful Callie! Buddies playing...looks like they are hugging, but I think this was a tackle : )

There's the attention Henry wants!

First bath in the bath tub

While up on Whidbey, Katie's umbilical cord fell out, so we were able to give her a "real" bath in the mini-tub. We had many hands on deck, which was great - so I was able to take pictures.
Yes, Mollie is wearing clothes - just looks like she isn't : )

Baby Katie - 2 Weeks

Time already is flying by. The last few weeks of pregnancy go by SO slowly. The first few weeks after birth have been a blur. It must be the lack of sleep, keeping track of a 2 year old, and trying to remember all of the secrets and tips for feeding, cooing, changing a newborn!
Here she is at 2 weeks old!

Eclipse

I stole this picture off of Betsy's blog, but I had to document. It all started before the craze of the Twilight series. Carleigh recommended we read the first book in a series of vampire books. What? Vampires? I was tempted to pass on that month. Well, I am glad I didn't! I got sucked in and was even on the wait list on amazon.com for the last book - which arrived in perfect timing while I was on bed-rest with Andy. Later that year, Betsy was on bed-rest with Miller. I convinced her that the series would be perfect to help pass the time. She got sucked in as well. So, once the movies came out, we decided we had to go together. Movie #1 was watched down in Palm Desert. Movie #2, we saw at the BP premier (night before the movie was released), thanks to Bets. Movie #3 was seen at the BP premier, thanks to me: ) We were laughing as this picture was taken as the people watching was pretty great. While reading the book (and heading to the movies), Kyle would ask if I was enjoying my affair with Edward...go team Edward!
