Let it snow!

Andy experienced his first snow with the recent Seattle weather. We put him in his "snow clothes" and went to the park across the street. I think mommy and daddy were more excited than Andy, but we had a fun family outing!

4 months old!

Wow - how time is flying by. I started this blog when I was 4 months along in my pregnancy, and now our baby boy is 4 months. Andy continues to bring us joy and laughter. His gut filled giggles, his fascinations with his hands, his leg thumping as he falls asleep...we are loving all of his new habits and discoveries. Sleep still is a guessing game...each night is a surprise. Overall, Andy is a mellow guy and loves "white noise". He does really well in loud places - restaurants, airplanes, waiting in the line for Santa : ) His little blankie monkey, horse, and elephant are his favorite to sleep with in his car seat, and he still chooses the hospital binky over any other. We finally have graduated to his jumpy and exersaucer, which helps mommy (and makes her worry less about flat-head). Andy's hair is starting to grow in...blond. Big surprise! His eyes are still as blue as ever and his fingers and toes are string beans. We have our 4 month check up next week and are curious to see what his "stats" are. He definitely is growing by the day and we are loving every minute!

Santa

We ventured downtown to visit Santa. After 2 hours of waiting, we finally got to see Santa...and he was a great Santa. Mommy and Daddy were filled with cookies and cider while waiting in line, which made it easier to wait. It's amazing how much more meaningful these traditions are with a baby! Andy was very interested in Santa...not necessarily happy, but not sad. He was a trooper!

Candy Cane Lane

We continued our family tradition of visiting Candy Cane Lane (now called Christmas Creek) in North Bend. I use to go with my dad as a little girl (okay, all the way up until I was married and my parents succumbed to the fake tree tradition). Now, I am excited to share this tradition with Andy. Kyle and I have gone for the past 4 years, but it added a special meaning to have Andy there. Although we didn't wait in line to see Santa, get hot cider, or the yummy cookies (due to the long line and the lack of appreciation from a 4 month old), we chopped down our tree to continue the tradition.

Mum & Papa

Andy is very fortunate to have both sets of great-grandparents on the Campbell/Kettering side to visit. We visited Mum and Papa and we take advantage and cherish the precious moments we have with them.

Thanksgiving in Palm Desert

This year we spent the week of Thanksgiving down in Palm Desert. Andy enjoyed some more sunshine and pool time...and so did his mommy and daddy! We played with cousins Maggie and Masin and enjoyed seeing GP and Grandma Jane. Our friends, the Wises were down as well - so Andy spent time with Jack and Ellie. Overall, the trip was amazing. Andy had a tough time sleeping in a new environment, but that's about all I can complain about! He continues to grow (see tummy, cheeks below), and is loving making bubbles, raspberries, playing with his hands, grabbing things, swinging in his swing, smiling, and laughing from his gut (which is our favorite!). We have a LOT to be thankful for! Thanks Ka and Bapa for a special trip!

Cancun

Andy now is a World Traveller! We survived our Mexico trip - and Andy was a SAINT. I think he likes the warm weather. The flight down we had a blow out on the first leg - so we were lucky to have an extra outfit. Otherwise, the flight, the stay, you name it - Andy was a model baby. Today is a new day...I think he enjoyed the pattern of us not taking him out of our arms and sight every second as paranoid first parents in a foreign country. Now when we leave the room, he cries!
We had a blast and are so appreciative of our baby boy. A tropical vacation with a newborn definitely is different than one without a baby - but we wouldn't change it for a second!

3 months old!

Andy will be 3 months old on Wednesday, November 12th. We were pleasantly surprised that he slept through the night for the first time last night - 9:00 pm - 6:00am! It's amazing how much energy I feel this morning : ) I worked out, had breakfast AND checked my e-mail all before the 8:00 hour! To accomplish one of these things during the entire day is a fete these days. Yeah for my little sleeper. Although I know it may only be a one night wonder...and I may be back up at the wee hours tonight, today is a celebration day!

At three months, Andy is starting to show a personality. He is persistent (hitting toys, grabbing hair, pulling off mommy's glasses), he is smiley, he made his first raspberry yesterday, and he is trying to mimic mommy's and daddy's facial expressions. It's amazing to look into his eyes and see him concentrating so much on things - just wish I could see into his mind. His eyes still are blue, but we know that still may change, and he is gaining weight in his cheeks, belly, and thighs. Glad to know my milk is working! Andy also allows big brother Henry to lick his face, hands and toes...for about one minute.

We leave for Mexico on Saturday, and can't wait to spend time as a family. I never could imagine life could be so joyful...I am in love with my little boy!

Halloween 2008

Andy did a costume change and we tried to put him in a red hot chili pepper costume...but it didn't last. So, pumpkins were the theme this year!

Grandma and Grandpa Graebner, with our little chili pepper in the middle Much more comfortable in his pumpkin outfit
After trick-or-treating at Grandpa & Grandma Graebner's we went to the Lentz household and played with cousins. The Warme girls were Cinderella and Snow White and the Lentz kids were Alivin, Simon, and Theodore. So cute!
